The purpose of the Ad-hoc capacity process is to grant rail network access outside of the annual or quarterly slot allocation cycles. It is designed to meet urgent, unforeseen, or once-off operational requirements such as extra train movements (Ramp up, peak period, material and breakdown trains).




Ad-hoc Capacity Allocated Based on its Availability


TOCs must submit request for ad-hoc allocation at least 72 hours and up to 21 days before planned train movement.

Minimum Requirements for Applications Includes But Not Limited to the Following:


Ad-Hoc Train path Application Form

Rolling Stock Roadworthy Certificate

Crew qualification and availability

Signed Rail Access Agreement

Signed Interface Agreement

Valid RSR Safety Permit

Compliance Certificate/s (where applicable) e.g Hazardous Goods
